The Wildflower mobile sauna lit up at night in Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids & the Lakeshore · since 2023

You already know the heat.

Maybe you’ve sweated with us in the Wildflower — at a pop-up, a festival, or parked in your own driveway. I’m Alisa, the Sauna Wolf, and this is Howl at the Moon.

And this November · something further from home

The same heat, a whole country away.

Once a year I take a small group somewhere the water runs deeper. This year, that’s Iceland — and there are still a few rooms.

Soaking in an Icelandic hot spring at dusk
The Iceland Bathing Expedition

Explore Iceland through its waters.

Seven days moving between hot springs and cold air, with an intentionally small group. November 2–8, 2026.

7 days · 6 nights One private lake house A small, co-ed group Everything but the flight
Meet your host

You met me for fifteen seconds. Here’s the rest.

A quick hello from me about what this trip actually is — why bathing, why Iceland, why a small group who’d never met.

Hot. Cold. Rest. Repeat.

The rhythm of the week — the oldest bathing pools, the newest lagoons, and the long, lamplit evenings in between.

An Icelandic lagoon

The waters

Steaming natural pools, sleek modern lagoons, and a wild river soak — a different bath almost every day.

A cold plunge

The contrast

Heat, then cold air or cold water, then rest. The pattern your body remembers long after you’re home.

A long dinner table set with candles

The table

Dinner is the other soak. Long, candlelit, chef-cooked meals where the day softens into conversation.

One private home on the lake.

No hotel lobbies, no strangers down the hall. Just our group, a wood-fired sauna, and water out the window.

The lakefront house exterior

The house

A private lakefront home, ours for the week, far from any city glow.

The house sauna

The sauna

Yes — there’s a sauna here too. Of course there is.

Fireside in the house

The evenings

Fireside, lamplit, unhurried. The slow days are the ones people fall for.

A dark-sky week, on purpose

November sits right in northern-lights season.

Our week falls in the dark half of the moon, far from any city glow. I’d never promise the sky anything — but there’s no better position to be in, and no promises needed to make the week worth it.

Led by people who actually live this.

A sauna host, a seasoned travel designer, and a private chef — hosting together.
